GREAT LAKES REGION ASTRONOMICAL LEAGUE
 

GLR Awards and Award Rotation. The awards started in 2019. In 2019 and 2020 two awards per year were given. No awards were given in 2021 and 2022 due to COVID.

For 2023 only:

Nominations for these GLR awards are currently open. Nominations will close on October 31, 2023. We will present the Hans Baldauf Award to the recipient online or if possible, in person. Starting in January 2024:

Starting in 2023 the Great Lakes Region will give one award per year using the schedule below:

 

1. Hans Baldauf Award 2023

     For individual observational skill, astrophotography,

    and contributions to science (variable star estimates, 

    comet discovery, observing)

   

 

2. Great Lakes Region Award  2024

    For individual service (outreach, club leadership)

 

 

3. Great Lakes Region Media Award  2025

     For society media management
